Lung Nodule Program Responsibilities
* Complete follow-ups assigned on the LNP spreadsheet (CT review, PET review, routine follow-ups, thoracic surgery follow-ups, etc.).
* Schedule new patient referrals to the program (qualified and unqualified).
* Assist with CT scheduling (if trained; otherwise escalated to program lead).
* Support in-basket call management, including reviewing CT reports and triaging new patient appointment requests.
* Obtain radiology records, including reports and images, via PowerShare.
* Answer the LNP phone line during high-volume periods or when program staff are unavailable.
* Scan and upload patient records into the EMR.
Call Center Responsibilities
* Answer high-volume inbound calls in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.
* Schedule patient appointments across multiple providers, locations, and specialties while following established protocols.
* Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referral requirements.
* Triage calls appropriately based on urgency, clinical guidelines, and patient needs.
* Provide accurate information regarding office locations, hours, procedures, and preparation instructions.
* Route messages to clinical teams, providers, or administrative staff as needed.
* Support front desk and clinical teams by assisting with overflow tasks when cross-trained.
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and organizational policies at all times.
* Participate in ongoing training to stay current with scheduling protocols, clinical workflows, and system updates.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
HS Diploma or equivalent
* Preferred:
o Monday and Friday availability
o Fluent in Spanish
o Healthcare background
o Prior call center experience
o Epic EMR experience
o Basic knowledge of medical terminology
o Basic understanding of Excel (ie: data entry, color coding, spreadsheet navigation)
o Ability to learn to triage and schedule patients based on predetermined workflows.
o Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
o Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
