The Quality Director serves as a highly visible, energetic leader and champion for quality, safety, accreditation and infection prevention and control throughout the organization, and is responsible for operational oversight and implementation of these programs. The Director promotes high reliability for recommended evidence based care for every patient, everywhere, every time assuring a focus on people, process and technology to improve performance. The Director assures accurate and timely submission of all required data and information for required and voluntary quality reporting programs. The Director creates a continuous learning environment focused on patient and team member safety where just culture principles are applied and evident throughout the organization. The Director oversees the safety program that includes the safety culture survey and action planning and the safety event reporting system that includes all components of the safety event feedback loop. The Director is responsible for the overall participation and results of the patient safety culture survey, and utilizes the survey results in improvement efforts. In addition, the Director serves as the Patient Safety Officer for the facility.
The Director ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements. The Director ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, quality assurance and quality control measures. The Director provides oversight and direction for data management functions and processes for required quality reporting and pay for performance measures insuring data is accurate, obtained, submitted to external agencies as required, and internally reported in a timely manner and presented in a format appropriate and actionable for the audience and the improvement project. The director oversees measurement and analysis of quality, safety, infection prevention and control and accreditation related measures. The Director works closely and collaboratively with medical, nursing and clinical leadership to implement improvement strategies to continually improve quality and safety.

- Master's Degree in Healthcare, Behavioral Science, or a related field required.
- 5-7 years of Healthcare, Quality, Accreditation, Safety, or Risk Management experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Experience in project development, project management and strong analytical skills, including data management and data analysis required.
data definitions and sources and relevant national databases and benchmarks;
healthcare quality, safety and satisfaction data design, collection, aggregation and summarization;
and expert knowledge of performance improvement models, methods and systems.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred and required within 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), Healthcare Accreditation Certified Professional (HACP), and/or Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP) preferred.
