Overview
The Continuous Improvement Lead provides high quality and cost-effective process planning, improvement, and project management for major initiatives related to external provider management. This role will primarily focus on process analysis, time and cost studies, process simulation, process and productivity improvement in healthcare prior authorization and network management settings.Major Responsibilities / Essential Functions -Process Planning and Improvement:
- Coordinate integration of process improvement approaches across organization. Focusing on external provider management systems and processes.
- Facilitate use of data to identify opportunities to improve compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Improve department processes to prevent potential negative impact to patient care.
- Implement system standard methodologies, and processes to enable high value, highly reliable, and standardized work processes.
Process Management:
- Facilitate process improvement projects across organization. Focusing on external healthcare provider management systems and processes.
- Provide ongoing project progress updates and learnings to leadership to assist with communication to executives and front-line team members.
- Collaborate with counterparts and colleagues from across the system to develop and implement system-standard work processes.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with executive sponsors and process owners to ensure alignment and support of organizational goals.
- Work with leaders and team members to develop, align, and implement strategic and operational improvements.
- Act as a change agent to foster and support a sustainable work improvement culture.
Minimum Education -
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or Engineering or three (3) years of experience in healthcare insurance or direct patient care.
Minimum Work Experience -
- Minimum of five (5) years of direct, relevant experience in process mapping and analysis
- Minimum of five (5) years driving process improvement activities using standardized improvement tools and methodologies
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in the healthcare insurance industry
Additional Requirements -
- Develop and execute fact-based, data-driven methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large scale processes and automation improvement projects with proven ability to evaluate and implement tools in the market to improve process and automation.
- Ability to think analytically, apply analytical techniques and to provide in-depth analysis and recommendations to management using critical thinking and sound judgment.
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of analytic techniques pertinent to project management.
- Strong proficiency in the use of current software, including spreadsheets, process mapping tools, project work plan tools, charts, and graphs, etc.
- Proficient facilitation skills for senior level committees, teams, and major planning events.
Required Certification -
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent process improvement certification
Preferred Qualifications -
- Master's degree in in Business, Information Technology, or Engineering or five (5) years of experience in healthcare insurance or direct patient care
- Five (5) years' experience in the healthcare insurance industry
- Business Process Mapping (BPMP) certification
- Certified Process Improvement Specialist or Quality Process Analyst Certification
