Director of Hospital Medicine- Plainview/Syosset Hospital
Northwell Health’s Medicine Service Line is seeking a Hospital Medicine Director for Plainview & Syosset Hospitals. These two hospitals are covered by a unified hospital medicine program. The Director will work with departmental and organizational leadership to facilitate operations and strategic planning that promote continuous improvement within our clinical and educational enterprises. Leadership experience is preferred.
Northwell Health Hospital Medicine is dedicated to these key focus areas: care of high quality and high value, excellence in the patient experience and the clinical team-member experience, along with ongoing academic and educational growth.
Highlights of the role include:
- Appropriate balance of administrative and clinical time
- Regular participation and leadership in key hospital and medical staff committees
- Development and maintenance of continuous quality improvement programs
- Partnership with the Plainview Family Medicine Residency Program
- Close collaboration with Plainview Hospital Medical Director, Department of Medicine Chairperson, and Northwell Enterprise Director for Hospital Medicine
Plainview Hospital is an acute care community hospital with 120 beds that treats patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and gynecological conditions. It has a same-day surgery program and is also the site of one of the Don Monti Cancer Centers. Plainview also has a Family Medicine training program. The hospital was recently recognized by the Joint Commission for achieving excellence in performance on its accountability measures for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.
Syosset Hospital provides advanced medical treatments by skilled, compassionate professionals and support staff who are trained and certified in the latest medical procedures. Our 103 beds include a well-equipped special care unit and a psychiatric wing. Syosset's Emergency Department treats more than 15,000 patients each year and has a trauma unit and eight treatment beds.
