In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.
Job Description
We are looking for a Procurement Analyst to join our Research Facilities at MSK. We seek to maintain the strong relations and communication we have with vendors regarding procurement processes and invoice activity. Under direction of a Senior Financial Analyst, you will handle procurement activity for the team in a collaborative environment. You will also have to reconcile inter institutional activity and monitor and analyze expenses within our core facilities.
You Are:
- An effective communicator, with good written and oral communication skills

- An experienced decision-maker, with proven success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward
- An organized individual who will have to ensure payments are processed timely and reconciliations occur quarterly
- Attentive to details and diligent to spot expense fluctuations within our core facilities
You Will:
- Submit and address payments and discrepancies on vendor accounts and resolve accordingly
- Be responsible for the review, payment, and monitoring of all departmental non-salary expenses
- Maintain, generate and analyze data/reports to develop benchmarks, projections, and recommend opportunities for enhanced efficiency and/or cost reductions
Produce and analyze reports, projections, KPIs, and data related to expense activities, growth, and other departmental finances. Provide reports and analyses to stakeholders on a scheduled basis. Craft and review categorization of purchases to ensure purchases are categorized accurately

- Serves as a resource person to employees on topics related to purchasing of goods and services, and related transactions
- Establishes and maintains productive relationships with vendors and accounts payable to monitor/track invoice receipt, submission, and remittance
- Monitors any outstanding accounts and accounts receivables; maintains contact with appropriate parties in order to recover the outstanding amounts
- Maintains various department records for receipt of bills, purchase orders, and finance reports
- Participates in continuous process improvement, implement departmental initiatives, and complete related ad hoc projects and analyses
- Opens and closes fiscal year Line of Credits and Purchase Orders leveraging by conducting analysis for recommended budget.
- Addresses all WCM payment inquiries and or discrepancies relating to vendor accounts and reconciles/resolves accordingly; escalates unresolved issues as needed.
- Generates, processes, tracks, and reconciles (quarterly) inter-institutional and external MCOs and payments for services rendered.
- Prepares SOPs and IGDs and maintains working knowledge of relevant departmental SOPs and IGDs. Recommends revisions as needed.
- Cross trains in intra-sectional (AFIS) roles. Assumes Animal Procurement, Billing Analyst, and Sr. Finance Analyst responsibilities in their absence.
You Have:
- A Bachelor's Degree with experience in procurement functions preferred
- Proficiency within Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
This position is located at our Zuckerman Research Center in NYC with the following schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.
