Position Information:
The Supervisor position within the WakeMed Physician Practices centralized registration division is responsible for the accurate timely and thorough data collection and processing of patient information for all patient types who access services in the WPP practices. Each supervisor may have a specialized location or area of responsibility utilizing varying methods of patient registration depending on organizational needs. Each supervisor must have a working understanding of all steps in the process for two primary reasons: 1) To design build maintain and improve their own department to support the other interdependent departments and 2) To provide coverage and leadership to all segments of registration when requested. The preparation of the patient to receive services at WakeMed requires that registration collect all required information patient information financial/coverage information and clinical information to meet the needs of the patient and the provider. Registration supervisors must execute such that the patient is financially cleared for services appropriate referrals are made for financial viability of the visit and data is collected to support corporate initiatives such as meaningful use quality of and reimbursement and patient satisfaction. The supervisor must understand support and implement the guiding vision and policies of WakeMed Health & Hospitals the regulatory requirements of state and federal entities and the tenets of accreditation and professional access services organizations. The supervisor is responsible for the leading an assigned department of registration professionals by providing the staff direction education training and guidance. The supervisor will be called upon to perform direct access activities when deemed necessary. In order to lead provide direct services and more important to create/plan/evaluate the supervisor must demonstrate a high level of expertise about the detailed responsibilities of the staff and departments procedures and policies. The supervisor must be able to lead the assigned department such that key performance indicators are met or exceeded.

Experience Requirements:
3 Years Patient Registration Required - And/Or Leadership Preferred

Education Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required - And Associate's Degree Business Administration Preferred

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Certified Healthcare Access Associate Or Certified Healthcare Access Manager Or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative Or Certified Technical Specialist Preferred

Hours of Work:
M-F 7-5

Weekend Requirements:
No Weekends
