We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer for the Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW) – an organization that has been providing quality health care to individuals and families and supporting its members' choices for health caresince 1992. Located in Seattle, this executive will be joining CHPW at a pivotal time as it continues to build upon its foundation of success while positioning itself for future growth.
Founded by a group of Washington federally qualified health centers ("Community Health Centers", or CHCs), CHPW was formed to increase access to comprehensive coverage for their patients and became Washington's first and only not-for-profit managed care organization (MCO) offering Apple Health (Medicaid). Uniquely governed by the network of CHCs, the organization's mission is to ensure all Washingtonians have access to quality health care, no matter one's income or circumstances, and to provide the tools they need to live healthier lives. With revenue of nearly $1.4 billion and projected growth in the upcoming years, CHPW serves over 300,000 members today across three product lines and all regions of the State of Washington.
CHPW contracts with a comprehensive provider network across the entire state. Its network includes:
- 21 Community Health Centers that make up Community Health Network of Washington (CHNW), the governing body, with more than 190 clinics across the State
- More than 3,100 primary care providers
- Nearly 15,000 medical specialists
- Nearly 8,000 behavioral health specialists
- Over 100 hospitals
The new CFO will lead a team and collaborate closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, Executive Leadership team and other key constituents. This individual will be responsible for directing the fiscal functions of CHPW and CHNW and will provide financial input and analysis for the strategic policy making functions of the Board. As a key member of the leadership team, the next CFO will provide input regarding operating and strategic decisions and develop a vision that ensures financial viability for the future.
We are seeking an engaging leader with excellent understanding of finance and accounting principles, and thorough knowledge of all aspects of managed care. Knowledge of federal and state health care programs (Medicaid, Medicare and exchange) is a must, and additional experience with community health centers is preferred. The successful candidate will resonate with CHPW's mission and be a high-caliber individual capable of supporting and leading the important work ahead for the organization.
Applications, inquiries, and nominations are welcome. You may perform any of these activities by contacting Michelle Johnson, Tom Quinn and Molly Gauss, the WittKieffer consultants working on this search, at mgauss@wittkieffer.com or preferably through the WittKieffer Candidate Portal by clicking here.
The base salary for this position will be in the $375K-$509K range annually, dependent on relevant experience. Additional incentives, benefits, and relocation assistance are also an important part of this package.
