Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

Responsible for providing clinical leadership and oversight for Transplant (BMT), Heme/Heme Malignancy, Immunotherapy, Apheresis and Infusion departments in partnership with the administrative managers and Medical Directors.This position requires strong leadership and mature judgment to ensure high standards that comply with all regulatory requirements while promoting clinical excellence.Areas of focus vary based on the organization's strategic goals and prioritization:
- Ensures compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures
- Develops a collaborative work environment across all Fred Hutch sites and with our community partners
- Provides administrative, clinical, and strategic direction while mentoring and developing leaders and staff
Responsibilities
People:
- Develops and cultivates a culture that promotes an inclusive workplace
- Develops and fosters a culture that promotes recognition of individual, team, and department wide accomplishments. Actively recognizes individuals for good performance and uses each opportunity as an example for the staff.
- Assures effective educational services are provided for areas of responsibility
- Develops and manages a workforce plan to include leadership development of supervisors and managers
- Coaches/mentors staff, providing an evaluation of staff performance through timely discussion and feedback
Service:
- Develops and implements an operational plan and model to deliver patient focused care and services for areas of responsibility
- Development of new programs in partnerships with Medical Directors & Managers
- Ensures Fred Hutch has the latest industry standards with regards to quality, technology, and workflow processes for optimal patient care
- Oversees department activities related to quality improvement, risk management and safe practice, ensuring all requirements for federal, state or local regulatory agencies and complies with all TJC guidelines
- Accountable for the development, implementation, and maintenance of Standards of Practice consistent with quality care
- Partners effectively with colleagues on the impact of strategic initiatives and projects across the organization
- Assesses, understands, and communicates the impact of strategic decisions and initiatives to senior leadership
- Promotes and supports the cultivation, dissemination and integration of local, national and international trends and best practices for academic and community cancer programs
- Participates as a member of various Fred Hutch committees involved in policy and procedure development, program planning, and working processes
Financial
- Accountable for financial management of assigned area including the development and monitoring of budget, productivity measures and internal controls for data and configuration control
- Partners with senior leadership in creating operating and capital budgets
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Previous experience in oncology
- Previous experience in Transplant, IMTX, APH or Heme Services
- 7+ years healthcare setting
- 5+ years in a healthcare leadership role
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Washington under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- Detail-oriented and data-driven
- Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental business principles
- Analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to set department strategy and drive process improvement
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus
- Strong customer / patient orientation focus
- Knowledgeable of all policies and procedures that affect the outcomes of patient care, employee rights and responsibilities
- Knowledgeable of current healthcare environment/regulations and impact to hospital
Preferred
- Master's in Nursing
- Oncology specific certification
- National certification in nursing administration or clinical specialty preferred.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $152,169 to $253,615, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
