The Quality and Education team has an opening for an Inpatient Coding Quality Coordinator. Key responsibilities of the CQC are to perform second level record reviews focusing on quality measures, and clinical documentation improvement opportunities for community and academic records. This position will work closely with the DQC’s and Quality team.
Candidates should be experienced inpatient coders that possess subject matter expertise in community and academic coding, ICD-10-CM and PCS, DRG’s and coding reference materials.
*CCS, RHIT, or RHIA credentials are required for this position.

Preferred QualificationsRole Purpose
The Inpatient Coding Quality Coordinator is responsible for auditing the inpatient coding/abstracting quality in accordance with official coding and reimbursement guidelines. This includes serving as a coding subject matter expert, providing guidance on documentation integrity to support compliant coding, and identifying patterns and trends for educational opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Reviews medical record documentation to ensure coding and abstracting assigned is complete and accurate in accordance with IPPS using ICD-10- CM and ICD-10-PCS Coding Classification systems.
- Serves as subject matter expert for Enterprise Coding. Proactively identifies issues or trends and reports to Coding Leadership as appropriate.
- Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with CDI, Quality, Compliance and other departments as appropriate.
- Assists in development and delivery of coding education as requested.
