The Nemours Cardiac Center is seeking an experienced Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to lead the Division of Cardiac Critical Care at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware, (formerly known as A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware.)
The candidate should have sub-specialty certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and, ideally, have additional training/certification in pediatric cardiology or pediatric anesthesiology.
This position includes an academic appointment at the Thomas Jefferson University Sidney Kimmel Medical College at an academic rank commensurate with experience and performance.
This individual will serve as the Medical Director for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit which functions within an integrated practice unit unifying cardiovascular surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, cardiologists, mid-level and allied practitioners in a dedicated physical plant. This organizational structure promotes a high level of satisfaction for our patients and their families as well as our cardiac center's team. The Nemours Cardiac Center was recently awarded a Three Star Rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons because of our exceptional outcomes. Our hospital is consistently ranked as one of the top Children's Hospitals by US News and World Report.
The Division Chief will lead a multi-disciplined critical care team working collaboratively within the organization to maintain our superb outcomes. It is expected that this individual will foster the academic productivity and professional development of its faculty, train pediatric critical care, neonatal and cardiology fellows, and continue our participation in national registries and quality improvement initiatives.
