OverviewAtlantic Health System is seeking a Full Time Certified Medical Assistant for Breast Surgery at Overlook Medical Center in Summit NJ. Some travel to Union, NJ.
Our entry level offers start at $21.10 / hour and increase based upon experience.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Reviews daily appointment schedule with provider and develops a plan for patient care activities.
- Obtains Pre-Op paperwork, labs, referral consultation notes, and hospitalization and ED records prior to appointment.
- Forwards clinical information to specialist at least 24hrs prior to scheduled appointment or procedure.
- Processes lab letters, referrals and forms, and obtains prior authorizations for medications, referrals and tests per insurance requirements.
- Tracks labs and referrals, scans and indexes appropriate documents, documents all communication with patient per EPIC standards.
- Collaborates with team to accommodate same day requests, checks and responds to emails and pools daily.
- Ensures work area is stocked with current forms for daily work and computer downtime.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of required computer systems.
QualificationsMinimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED required- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Training Program and Certification.
Minimum Experience:
- 1-2 years MA experience in Breast Surgery or a general surgery physician practice an
- EPIC experience desired
Licenses/Certifications:
- Medical Assistant certification through AAMA, AMCA, NAHP, AMT, NCCT, or NHA required
