OverviewAtlantic Health System is seeking a Culinary Intern to work within the Nutrition & Food Services Department at Morristown Medical Center.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Function/Responsibilities:
- Learn the importance of food safety and procedures
- Assist in daily kitchen production procedures, food safety, garde manger, patient dining, retail, and catering services
- Learn knife skills, service, and portion control
- Learn proper storage procedures including dry storage, deliveries, & proper procedures for denying or accepting product
QualificationsMinimum Education:
- HS graduate or GED Required
- Actively enrolled in Associates Degree in culinary arts or related field (preferred)
Minimum Experience:
- Strong ability to take direction and work well with others
- Passion for the culinary industry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible schedule and availability for weekends and possibly holidays
- Must have a positive attitude and carry oneself with respect and professionalism
- Practice safe work habits, follow all AHS safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training
