The VP Nursing & Chief Nursing Officer provides leadership in the daily operations of Penrose Hospital. Responsible and accountable for leading hospital clinical operations by working through directors and other health care team members in providing patient care 24 hours/day and 7 days/week. Embodies the tenants of high reliability and strongly supports clinical nurse driven shared governance. Is a visible leader that champions our continued Magnet designation and exercises accountability for nursing care wherever it is provided in the hospital. Assumes active leadership role with Community Board, Senior Leadership, Medical Staff and with hospital leaders in hospital and Centura health. Important to this role is understanding the leadership expectations of this position and the entire leadership team throughout Centura Health. Each leader must have a personal and professional connection to the Mission of this Christian organization. This position must be a team player themselves and contribute toward a Team centered approach that lends itself to ensuring "team before self" in order to lead this complex, highly matrixed organization into the differentiated leading role as THE system of choice. This key executive position will lead nursing services for Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs and will report to the Market CEO and SVP Enterprise CNO. What You Bring/Job Requirements:In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: * Masters Degree in Nursing (other disciplines acceptable if a BSN is held in nursing), required* Doctorate Degree, preferred* Five (5) years progressive clinical leadership nursing experience required.* CNO Experience preferred.* RN license to practice in CO, required* Nurse Executive Certification, professional certification required within 1 year of hire or transfer to role.Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantlyYour Connected Community:When people and places align, incredible things happen.
