Overview
This position provides ongoing assessment of care, oversees performance improvement projects, and ensures successful clinical project implementation in the acute care environment assigned. Provides positive role modeling and critical thinking skills to facilitate staff development. Proactively supports the quality and continuity of services throughout the healthcare systems. Assists in resolution of systems issues and enforces unit/department policy/procedures and standards of care under the direction of the director. This position will have dedicated and protected hours to the specific programs the individual will oversee such as trauma, pediatrics, code blue, etc.

Responsibilities
- Provides ongoing assessment of department and facility performance, analyzes clinical outcome data, and identifies performance improvement opportunities or trends.
- Conducts high level assessments, gathers information, and collaborates with the appropriate process owner(s) to identify opportunities for improvement. Analyzes data for administrative and clinical decision making.
- Prioritizes, supports and leads implementation and performance improvement activities related to or resulting from evidence-based practices, trends, patient safety, harm reduction, clinical performance, peer review, and compliance with the requirements of regulatory and accrediting agencies such as TJC, CMS, Quality Improvement Organization and DHS.
- Develops nursing practices, policies, and procedures.
- Identifies training needs and facilitates training for clinical staff.
- Participates in the onboarding, training, and education of new employees.
- Coordinator will also investigate incident reports, patient complaints, patient care issues, and other issues as requested by the supervisor.
- Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
Qualifications
- Must possess a strong knowledge of healthcare as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
- Requires a current RN license in state of practice. Requires BLS certification.
- Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of clinical care management as normally demonstrated through three (3) years of nursing experience. Must demonstrate strong decision-making and critical thinking skills along with the ability to lead change.
- Requires the ability to manage programs and projects. Requires demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and written communication skills. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office platforms required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
