Dir Advanced Analytics is responsible for planning, developing, and communicating data analysis for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH), which includes identifying, collecting, organizing, storing, retrieving, consolidating, analyzing, and interpreting structured and unstructured data and information for assigned areas within BSWH. Designs and implements procedures, processes, and methods to increase the usability and quality of data collected from clinical, operational, financial, or people related data sources to be used by multiple diverse departments and clients within BSWH. Guides and develops strategies, approaches, methodologies, and standards for creating and deploying data analytics solutions that lead to improvement and optimization in clinical and business operations. Identifies meaningful insights, interprets complex data, and communicates findings to generate actionable plans and address business issues and opportunities. Collaborates with multiple departments to determine data analytics needs and drive decisions based on data, facts, and analytical findings, while managing relationships and data expectations. May lead the design, development, and coding of software programs, algorithms, and automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple sources. Uses data and statistical methods to measure business results and outcomes, identify areas of strategic focus, and suggest operational improvements that will impact BSWH future healthcare delivery and business performance.
A system Director translates and implements strategic plans and objectives for area of responsibility. Makes final decisions on operational matters and ensures achievement of objectives. Recommends policies and organizational changes for area. Plans and executes projects and initiatives that meet annual objectives. Erroneous decisions at this level tend to have negative impact on the success of the area, business unit, and possibly the overall organization's operations. Plans and directs the operations of a department or area, with responsibility for staffing, processes, budgets, and costs of the unit. Leads and advises subordinate(s) to meet schedules, resolve technical problems, and monitor performance. Has a larger, more complex organization or functional area than a manager. Often has one or more managers or supervisors reporting to the role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
1.Directs advanced data analytics for assigned area of responsibility for BSWH.
2.Recommends and implements strategic and operational plans and priorities for data analytics aligned to BSWH overall business objectives.
3.Directs trend analysis, predictive analytics, data mining, and acquires outside research to provide actionable insights that inform business decisions and improve patient and organizational value.
4.Directs data analysis to address a variety of clinical and business issues, such as identifying non-beneficial clinical variation, reducing waste, and improving the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of clinical processes and protocols.
5.Uses statistical knowledge to develop analytics solutions, such as projects related to price elasticity, marketing mix, promotion effectiveness, control tests, and targeted customer segmentation.
6.Leads the design and development of analytical platforms designed to understand key business levers to drive customer engagement, satisfaction, loyalty, and advocacy to accelerate revenue growth.
7.Develops processes and architecture for merging raw data into applicable databases while ensuring data integrity with vigilance towards validation.
8.Ensures that data are translated into information that describes accurate and meaningful facts to customers with recommendations for action.
9.Collaborates with partners to define, develop, and deliver key metrics, dashboards, and related market intelligence programs and solutions.
10.Directs analytics projects and initiatives to optimize business intelligence, data integrity, standardized reporting, and data consistency.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
1.Bachelor's degree in data analytics, statistics, computer science, or a related field preferred.
2.5+ years of experience in data analytics, master data management, or related area.
3.1+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred.
4.Experience creating analytical data models and finding solutions with incomplete data sets.
5.Experience in deploying data management, standards, and processes at the enterprise level.
6.Experience with clinical and financial data architecture, reporting, and analytics preferred.
7.Understanding of extract, transform, and load processes and tools.
8.Knowledge of analytic and reporting tools, such as Oracle, SQL Server, MS Access, SAS, and SPSS.
9.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
