Shift: DaysPosition Summary:
Process paper medical record by reviewing documentation to ensure it is approved for inclusion in the legal medical record. Perform scanning, quality checking and validating functions. Maintain the electronic medical record by performing audits of medical records to ensure verification of correct patient information. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.Detailed responsibilities:
* DUTIES - Perform duties of Clerk Specialist III as work flow dictates
* INFORMATION - Review information contained in documentation to ensure it is approved format
* PPOLICIES AND PROCEDURES - Ensures institutional policies and procedures for administration and maintenance of medical records are adhered to
* CONFIDENTIALITY - Maintain medical record confidentiality and legal requirements
* RECORDS - Create and maintain daily records of work performed
* QUALITY - Review records to ensure they meet hospital quality standards
* CUSTOMER SERVICE - Respond to additional service or special requests in a timely manner; ensure customer issues are appropriately resolved; demonstrate positive customer relations
* POLICY & PROCEDURE - Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programs
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
* AUDIT - Develop, oversee and conduct various routine and special audits, research and correct data to maintain integrity of programsQualifications
