Clinical Labs of Hawaii has an exciting opening for a Corporate Accountant in our Aiea office.
The Corporate Accountant will be responsible for general ledger postings, account reconciliations, assistance with monthly close process, assistance with preparation of financial statements, accounts payable, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliations, lease accounting, and other special projects. This role requires strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in order to manage the financial reporting aspect of this role. Knowledge of spreadsheet software is also required.
Essential Job Duties:
- Verifies and processes invoices for payment ensuring appropriate approvals and backup
- Serve as employee expense reporting application administrator for Pacific Division
- Maintain and reconcile fixed assets and prepaids for Pacific Division via fixed asset sub-ledger. This includes posting assets into FAS, running depreciation reports and posting the general ledger journal entries. Also includes the preparation of monthly and semi-annual roll-forwards.
- Manage purchasing card program and post the applicable general ledger journal entries (duties include helping divisions obtain new credit cards, logging in, speaking with other program coordinators to resolve other various credit card issues).
- Prepare and distribute daily cash reports
- Review accounts payable batches for accuracy before posting
- Processes monthly recurring lease payments
- Assist in preparing month-end close journal entries and expense accruals
- Support as needed for special finance centric projects
- Assist internal auditors during financial statement audit/review.
- Other duties of a general accounting nature, as assigned
Education and experience:
- BBA degree in finance, accounting, business or related field preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years relevant experience required. Healthcare experience preferred.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- Excellent mathematical aptitude.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, especially with Excel and database applications.
- A high degree of creativity and ability to think strategically.
