Shift: DaysPosition Summary:
Responsible for cash flow, payroll, cost containment and financial reporting. Responsible for the day-to-day fiscal operations of the UNM Health Systems Accounting Department. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.Detailed responsibilities:
* ACCOUNTING - Apply principles of accounting to initiate and maintain operation of general accounting systems
* ACCOUNTING - Design or modify existing systems to provide records of assets, liabilities, and financial transactions of the hospital
* ACCOUNTING - Maintain accounts and records, and supervise the staff in such activities as cash receipts, accounts receivable, cash disbursements, accounts payable, general ledger and payroll
* ANALYSIS - Analyze revenue and expenditures for department managers
* FINANCE - Recommend and advise department heads and Controller regarding trends, expenses, administrative commitments and obligations incurred
* FINANCE - Interpret Hospitals policies and accounting processes and procedures to the staff
* FINANCE - Assist Controller/Executive Director in the preparation and implementation of the objectives and policies of fiscal matters, and in any fiscal area
* AUDIT - Develop, oversee and conduct various routine and special audits, research and correct data to maintain integrity of programs
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshopsQualifications
