The Opportunity
OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois is seeking a Chief, Pediatric Otolaryngology. The incoming Chief will have a tremendous opportunity to build upon the successes of an established program and lead the division’s continued growth. OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois is the teaching affiliate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP), and the successful candidate would also have the opportunity for a faculty appointment with UICOMP. OSF Healthcare Children’s Hospital of Illinois also has opportunities for faculty-level Pediatric ENT positions. Please inquire for more details.
Reporting to the Surgeon-in-Chief, Dr. Charles Aprahamian, the new Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology will direct the clinical, educational and advocacy activities within the division of pediatric otolaryngology. The new Chief should possess a proven track record in leadership, clinical excellence, patient care, and teaching. Applicants should be committed to clinical excellence, teamwork, and mentorship of faculty, trainees, and students. The chosen candidate must be eligible for licensure in the state of Illinois.
The Division Chief will oversee the strategic development and performance of the division, including:
- Recruiting, developing, supporting, and retaining excellent faculty
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based clinical care to patients
- Collaborating with clinical operations leaders to optimize clinical efficiency and enhance patient experience
- Managing faculty clinical productivity
- In partnership with the Surgeon-in-Chief, assist with the development of annual budgets and revenue projections
- Aligning division activities with the policies of OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois
The Organization
OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois is a 136-bed full-service children’s hospital with more than 145 pediatric subspecialists in 40+ subspecialties. The Children’s Hospital has 64 neonatal beds, 8 level II nursery beds, 32 pediatric critical care beds, 16 pediatric oncology beds and 16 general pediatric beds. The hospital provides the highest level of care for newborns to young adults with common and complex medical conditions. For patients that require continued care into adulthood, they offer formalized transition programs. The hospital is making specialized care more accessible to patients by offering 17 clinics throughout central and northern Illinois, focusing on specialties like congenital heart, general surgery, hematology/oncology and more.
