SALARY:
$18.94 - $21.29+ per hour. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Provide information to groups and individual students regarding loans and financial aid. Provide outreach for the Student Financial Services department, including coordinated financial wellness presentations across campuses and mandatory one on one counseling for first year students.
Essential Job Functions- Responsible for providing loan information to applicants and matriculated students via individual and group counseling sessions for the Montana campus location.
- Work with the Education Loan Management Resources (ELM) portal to certify/review private educational loans.
- Meet with new students to provide mandatory individual loan counseling.
- Collect cash, check and credit card payments from students and other third-party agencies. Accurately record payments received according to university policy and procedure.
- Organize and conduct exit interviews for students who graduate or withdraw. Prepare documents and conduct both individual and group sessions as required.
- Provide information to students regarding private and federal loans.
- Provide individual and group counseling on budgeting, credit reports, and other financial literacy topics as assigned.
- Prepare detailed reports and compile information concerning private and federal student loan programs as requested utilizing Excel.
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Student Financial Services.
Marginal Job Functions- Participate in the design, implementation and presentation of financial literacy programs for students.
- Assist administration, faculty and staff in special projects as required.
- Participate in community and professional outreach activities on behalf of the college and university as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Thorough knowledge of federal and private loan programs including application processing, need analysis, packaging, repayment options, reporting requirements and regulations.
- Ability to understand and explain financial aid regulations, policy and procedure in order to appropriately advise students.
- Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to speak to large groups of students.
- Demonstrated time management skills and ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Ability to perform detailed work with accuracy.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel proficient.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to multi-task and problem solve innovatively.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural, diverse, team-based setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing equity, diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree.
- At least two years of experience working in a college or university Financial Aid Office, or with a student loan/private lender or servicing company.
Preferred Qualifications- Direct experience in student loan processing including certifications, FAFSA verification, disbursements, and electronic data transmissions.
- Familiarity with NSLDS, COD, FAA, EDconnect and Direct Loan processing.
- Experience with Jenzabar, PowerFAIDS, Banner or other financial aid software system.
