Lifepoint Health is recruiting for a Senior Payroll Coordinator to join our Payroll Department!Summary:This position's primary purposes are to process payroll for facilities in the field; work with PBC and other operations staff and field users to answer questions and solve problems; audit payroll results for consistency and reasonableness; balance payroll results (taxes, benefits, etc.); apply advanced problem-solving skills to technical payroll system; works with PBC to teach/train on Kindred payroll policies/procedures; review payroll practices to ensure compliance with DOL/IRS/Treasury regulations (e.g., state payout rules, taxes, etc.); communicate with field personnel on payroll-related issues. Essential Tasks:- Coordinates payroll processing as assigned. Monitors compliance of PBC/field personnel with required deadlines, compliance with company policies, payroll approval paperwork, system clean-up, error reports, etc.
- Responsible for processing transfers, assisting payroll coordinators, training new staff, developing knowledge base of existing staff, backing up supervisor, and special projects.
- Uses advanced technical knowledge of payroll systems (SAP and the timekeeping systems) and applies advanced problem solving skills to resolve system problems and direct field users and payroll staff on technical questions. Works on more technical projects as assigned within the department.
- Uses advanced knowledge of Kindred payroll/HR policies and procedures, payroll administration guidelines, and payroll regulations (DOL, IRS and Treasury) for federal, state, and local governments across the country to research and resolve regulatory issues for the PBCs, payroll processors and supervisor.
- Balances and audits payroll earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits, etc. Escalates unresolved issues from the field as necessary.
- Researches, compiles, and reports required payroll data for other departments (i.e. legal, reimbursement), facilities and regulatory agencies. Produces ad-hoc reports as necessary.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Knowledge:- Advanced knowledge of payroll administration, taxes, regulations in a multi-state, multi-corporation environment.
- Intermediate level Word and Excel skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Kindred payroll systems (SAP, Kronos WorkForce Central, POC).
- Proven ability to work independently and demonstrated analytical ability.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with others in a helpful and professional manner even when dealing with difficult situations.
Skills and Abilities:Business Mathematical Skills -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
Moderate Computers Skills -- Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.
Moderate Communication -- Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.

Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment.
Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air
