Title: Principal BI Developer

The Principal Business Intelligence Developer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is will develop and carry out software test strategies and quality assurance practices for software that delivers "dashboard" access to data from the company's SAP business data warehouse. Lead engineering teams in identifying, reproducing, and documenting software defects. Guide the team and ensure that quality assurance practices, such as inspecting, testing, and evaluating the software, are carried out accurately. Lead data extract, transform and load (ETL) solutions for the purpose of building and maintaining Vanderbilt data lake. Partake in modelling the architecture, and solutioning of data products and services utilized by customers to support decision-making and analysis. Serve as the lead for other developers and aids in the development of others as it relates to coding language and technical skills development. Design and test python and SQL code for extract, transform, and load (ETL) pipeline processes, performing quality assurance tasks on python and SQL code written by other developers. Provide input into new data source development on architecture and mapping design using data modeling tools and managing bi-weekly data release process to ensure on-time testing and data asset delivery utilizing Gitlab.
