Our client, a respected and rapidly growing accredited hospice program within a larger health and social wellness agency serving the Washington metropolitan area, is seeking a new Hospice Medical Director. Reporting to the CMO, the Hospice Medical Director is responsible for the overall leadership, quality, and management of the medical components of Hospice at the Agency. This position will operate onsite in their Washington DC-Baltimore area location.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a member of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), the Medical Director provides clinical guidance and support to the members of the IDT assuring that patients and families receive the highest quality end-of-life care.
- Provides education to community physicians and others engaged in the care of terminally ill patients on the services provided by the hospice program.
- Promotes the growth of Hospice and other programs within the Agency through active participation in strategic growth initiatives, physician leadership inside and outside of the Agency, and innovative growth through technology and use of data-driven decision making.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO required, along with unlimited license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland.
- DEA certification and Primary Board certification.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience caring for patients at the end-of-life demonstrating experience in the principles of medical and psychosocial management in hospice care.
