ScionHealth is recruiting for a Director, Compliance Operations to join our Compliance team. Remote candidates considered for this role.
Summary:
The Director, Compliance Operations leads efforts to support ScionHealth's culture of compliance through the development and management of a policy governance program and strategic planning and oversight of all ethics and compliance training and communications.
Essential Functions:
An individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Manage the enterprise policy governance function which includes formalizing a policy program framework, drafting and/or coordinating the drafting of policies addressing regulatory risk, establishing, and facilitating an enterprise Policy Governance Committee, facilitating policy-related communications, and administering the Policy Management System.
- Develop resources for the field to ensure consistency in process documentation throughout the enterprise.
- In collaboration with Organizational Development, Human Resources, and other Compliance functional leaders, define and execute an Ethics and Compliance training and communication strategy to enhance ScionHealth's culture of compliance.
- Manage vendor relationships leveraged for compliance training and culture-related initiatives.
- Coordinate the tracking and trending of training completion rates, monitor and report on training penetration and effectiveness, and ensure the training and communication program is dynamic and responsive to the evolving industry and enterprise.
- Lead cross functional efforts to develop and implement proactive ethics and compliance-related initiatives such as ethics and compliance program branding efforts, enterprise-wide ethics and compliance week activities, new ethics and compliance program and resource launches, etc.
- Develops regular and routine reports to the Ethics and Compliance team, the Enterprise Compliance Steering Committee, and other business leaders as needed.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- A policy guru: Demonstrated experience building and/or leading a policy governance program in a complex organization and a clear understanding of Department of Justice expectations for policies. Has an appreciation for and ability to draft policies and procedures that are clear, concise, and provide for accountability within the organization.
- A clear and dynamic communicator who knows his or her audience: Consistently communicates complex information both verbally and in writing. Interacts with individuals at all levels of the organization and can adapt communication for the intended audience. Communicates in a manner that encourages collaboration and open dialogue.
- A well-organized, highly motivated project manager: Sets both team and individual goals and determines how to achieve results with limited direction; prioritizes and leads multiple complex projects simultaneously including task delegation and oversight.
- A natural born leader skilled at exercising the power of influence: Ability to lead effective team initiatives; motivate team members to achieve objectives; and provide clear direction and support to stakeholders. Also works effectively as an individual contributor on a team. Proven ability to "sell" compliance initiatives to stakeholders.
- A positive, high-energy, and creative entrepreneurial spirit with a focus on customer service: Consistently operates as a team player who demonstrates empathetic reasoning in interactions with the business. Is comfortable with ambiguity that may accompany a transformational business.
- Approximate percent of time required to travel: 15%
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant experience required; Master's Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration, Public Policy, Education, Healthcare Services, or other related field is strongly preferred.
Licenses/Certification:
- Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), or other compliance related certification preferred.
Experience:
- Significant experience in compliance or a related area such as legal, risk, quality, health care; detailed understanding of policy development and management practices aligned with Department of Justice expectations
Depending on a candidate's experience, this position may be filled at a different level.
