Shift: DaysPosition Summary:
Position is responsible for coding ICD diagnosis and CPT facility and professional fee codes. Assignments include outpatient clinic visits, diagnostic procedures, evaluation and management (E&M), and emergency room encounters for the purpose of reimbursement, research and compliance with federal regulation according to diagnosis, operation, and procedure using ICD and CPT classification systems. Ensure adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No Patient care assignment.Detailed responsibilities:
* RELATED WORK - Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
* CODE - Identify and assign modifiers for outpatient records for the purpose of reimbursement, research, and compliance with federal regulations
* CODE - Identify and assign preliminary evaluation and management (E/M) codes for the purpose of reimbursement, research and compliance with federal records
* CODE - Work both medical necessity (MN) edits and correct coding initiative (CCI) edits
* CODE - Identify and assign preliminary codes for outpatient clinic visits for the purpose of reimbursement, research and compliance with federal regulations according to diagnosis(es), operation(s), and procedure(s) using the current version of ICD and CPT classification systemsQualifications
