Senior Operational Advisor
South Shore Health
Weymouth, MA
At South Shore Health, we come together to improve the health of our family, friends and neighbors by bringing people, caregivers and excellence in medicine together. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as our Senior Operational Advisor. In this position, you will be responsible for leading improvement initiatives throughout the health system utilizing PDCA cycles, Visual Management, Root Cause Analysis, A3 Problem Solving and Annual Planning methodologies. The Senior Advisor will also manage a variety of projects and serve as the subject matter expert for standardizing the organization’s approach to operational and strategic projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the VP of Operational Excellence in implementing organizational strategies and operations integration functions
- Develop and integrate a standard approach to problem solving, working closely with leaders at the managerial and supervisory levels
- Design and monitor internal controls related to system, entity, division and departmental dashboards and performance measures
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses to support attaining organizational goals and objectives
- Train staff members in the use of process improvement principles and methods and problem-solving strategies using standardized continuous improvement processes
- Develop project purpose and goals in collaboration with the VP of Operational Excellence, implement project metrics, develop realistic project timelines and evaluate effectiveness
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a closely related field
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare leadership or consulting/advisory experience
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience utilizing LEAN, PDCA and/or Six Sigma methods to implement strategic plans and growth strategies in a large healthcare organization
- Experience in Operational Excellence experience and/or Performance Excellence
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-constituency organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Active Daily Engagement, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen workshops, A3 Thinking, True North and/or Hoshin Kanri
- High reliability industry strategic planning in healthcare and experience in large-scale cost reduction initiatives
- Experience in for-profit, non-profit and start-up environments
- Experience achieving effective hospital-wide patient flow and improving outcomes and quality of care for patients
- Experience leading system-wide improvement projects in a healthcare environment with 5+ years of related quality/process improvement experience and 2+ years of experience in providing consulting services, utilizing process improvement methodologies in a large hospital setting
