JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Clinical Engineering Manager, the Scope Repair Technician II is responsible for installations, repairs, regular maintenance and calibration of most classes of flexible and rigid endoscopes at the component level. May offer guidance to Scope Repair Tech I staff. May offer in-service and individual training for equipment users on subjects such as electrical safety, proper operation and care of the flexible and rigid endoscopes. Will monitor the work of outside scope repair vendors to ensure quality standards are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE- Performs installations, regular maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on assigned flexible and rigid endoscopes to ensure proper operation and function.
- Performs all assignments in a competent and timely manner according to current policies and procedures.
- Monitors service provided by outside scope repair vendors, and thus responsible for quality control of service provided.
- Establishes equipment baselines, performs inspections and evaluations, interprets test results and makes recommendations to solve performance deficiencies.
- Installs, repairs and calibrates most classes of flexible and rigid endoscopes at a component level.
- Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections as assigned.
- Uses diagnostic service software appropriate to the equipment being serviced.
- Assists in the evaluation of new equipment, accessories and supplies.
- Inspects incoming equipment for compliance with codes, standards, and manufacturer’s instructions.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS- Associates Degree in biomedical equipment technology or electronics or equivalent training experience preferred.
- 4+ years’ experience in Flexible or Rigid endoscope repair, healthcare preferred.
- Has and maintains a safe driving record.
- Solid knowledge of computerized systems: recordkeeping, PM, work order systems, timekeeping, etc.
- Possess strong technical, mechanical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Physically able to reach, lift, climb, crawl or otherwise see and work in tight and/or dim places.
- Able to interact and communicate with all staff and management in a positive and professional manner.
- Able to deal with difficult situations, resolve issues and concerns in a professional manner.
- Able to work and accomplish tasks in a stressful, fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION - Associate's Degree or a High School Diploma plus 6 years of work experience
- EXPERIENCE - 4 years of experience
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Drivers License (TXDL): If moving from out of state must obtain valid TX DL within 90 days of hire.
