SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Provide application software development services either for a defined project or team. Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications. Codes, tests, debugs, documents, and implements software applications. Analyzes and sometimes gathers or defines requirements. Tests and integrates a variety of application components. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented. Will often be involved in unit, integration, and acceptance testing of new software code. Typically work in a highly efficient (Agile) development environment.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT LEVEL: In-depth conceptual and working knowledge in job area; familiarity in related disciplines/specialties. Requires minimal guidance and will frequently lead projects of manageable risk or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives. Deep experience in role; able to train and/or lead others in job area. Executes a wide range of difficult/complex tasks - Level at which career may stabilize.
Development - Design and produce new and enhanced software. Conduct business analysis, testing, and support efforts. Perform maintenance and support efforts for a large/complex platform or a portfolio of applications.
Collaboration - Serve as senior liaison to internal and external groups, both technical and non-technical. Assess and synthesize complex user requirements. Develop detailed work breakdown structures and implementation plans that align with the development lifecycle as well as internal/external best practices. Complete internal reviews of code and other artifacts/deliverables. Execute testing efforts including data validation and information security reviews.
Requirements Gathering - Contribute significantly to the development of business, user, and system requirements. Analyze requirements across multiple efforts for alignment and overlap. Design solutions that can be scaled and reused across multiple projects and domains. Design and implement interfaces to securely access data from internal and external sources.
Support - Provide advanced technical support for a large/complex platform or portfolio of existing applications and interfaces. Develop and maintain a library and corresponding solutions. Manage documentation for support, including filling in all documentation required for support tickets.
Planning - Actively participate in short-range planning and provide input to long-range planning. Mentor other developers. Interview resources.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline
Object Oriented coding languages (Java, C#, C++, PHP)
SQL Skills (Oracle, Microsoft SQL, MySQL)
Experience working with LDAP
Web Server Experience
Working knowledge of Source Control (GIT)
Working knowledge of Docker containers
Working knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines
Ability to work on both Linux and Windows
Strong technical and business communication skills
Expertise with both GUI (PrimeFaces) and backend Java development
Experience with Oracle Database queries, views, stored procedures, functions, schemas, and roles
Experience managing and/or querying Microsoft Active Directory or other LDAP servers (Oracle Unified Directory, OpenLDAP)
Experience with Java Frameworks (PrimeFaces, JSF, Maven, Spring)
Experience installing and/or managing WebLogic and/or Tomcat Web Servers
PHP Development Experience (Zend, Laravel)
Experience building and deploying containers
Experience working in a Kubernetes environment
Experience with one or more CI/CD pipeline tools/processes
Strong Linux background (including Shell scripting)
Installing, administering, or customizing Oracle's WebLogic, OIG (OIM/SOA), or OUD products.
Experience working with F5 and/or DNS
