Overview
GENERAL SUMMARY:
As a member of the senior leadership team, the Executive Vice President Operations, Chief Nurse Executive (EVP Operations, CNE) leads the Accreditation & Certification Organization (ACO) and is the Chief Nurse Executive for the Joint Commission. Reporting into the President, this officer level role is responsible for developing, leading, and implementing divisional initiatives to achieve enterprise strategies, goals and objectives as well as providing oversight of the day-to-day operations. Accountable for ensuring the integrity of the accreditation and certification programs, the initiation and completion of all activities related to the survey and accreditation/certification process, and customer satisfaction for services provided. Responsible for managing customer relationships, including the tracking of patterns, trends, and actions to resolve concerns, as well as the coordination of numerous healthcare advisory councils.
Leads and develops a team of 7 direct reports responsible for managing a corporate office and field staff of approximately 800+, who directly partner and/or interact with TJC customers. Departments within this division include but are not limited to: the management of the pre, intra, and post survey processes; intracycle monitoring; account executive service team; surveyor & reviewer scheduling; survey technology; division staff education; CMS deeming authority coordination; and division policy development.
As the Chief Nurse Executive (CNE), you will represent the voice of nursing as the chief nursing spokesperson, both internally and externally. Serving as the key liaison between TJC and the nursing community, this role will create, and implement a strategic plan on how TJC can assist nurses in enhancing quality and patient safety. Leads the CNE Council for the organization.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experienced clinician with a Master's degree in nursing and an active license. PhD, preferred.
- Master's degree in management/business and/or equivalent management training and experience.
- Demonstrated clinical and operations expertise leading a large, complex, healthcare-related organization.
- 10+ years in a nursing/healthcare senior leadership role with demonstrated experiences in strategic
- planning, operations, organizational administration, and leading a team.
- Must have an in depth understanding of and recent experience with the Joint Commission accreditation/certification survey process.
- Hospital leadership & administration expertise in a large healthcare-related organization, demonstrating an understanding of the continuum of healthcare and the contemporary models of quality improvement and patient safety.
- Strong financial, operations, and business acumen skills.
- Experience leading in a rapidly evolving environment, role modeling agility.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong decision-making skills, involving complex issues.
- Experience building a strong cohesive team & in recognizing and mentoring talent.
