The Volunteer Development Specialist provides support to the WakeMed Volunteer Services management team through interviewing volunteer candidates, effectively screening applicants, ensuring volunteers are placed appropriately, and assisting with recruitment and improvement initiatives. This position assists the Volunteer Services Manager with the development of placement descriptions, associated standards and competencies; assists in the annual review of all placement descriptions to ensure that they are current and reflect expected responsibilities. Partners with the Representative to ensure initial requirements are met prior to the volunteer's start date. Maintains and tracks volunteer compliance information including health screenings, orientation, Hospitality Pets Program, and other hospital mandatory requirements. Services as a liaison for the volunteer board committees and provides administrative support and attend board and committee meetings. Assists with the coordination of volunteers fundraising sales and prepares sales closeout reports. Supports the Manager of Volunteer Services with community outreach program initiatives to include in-kind donations, Annual Toy Drive, community speaking events, special requests and community partner referral volunteer programs.Experience Requirements:
3 Years Volunteer Services Or Human Resources - Recruitment Or Administrative Or Customer Service Preferred - And 3 Years Applicant Screening RequiredEducation Required:
Bachelor's Degree Human Resources Or Business Administration Or Related Field RequiredLicensure/Certification Requirements:
Certified Healthcare Volunteer Management PreferredHours of Work:
Mon-Fri, 8am - 4pm, with nights and weekends as neededWeekend Requirements:
