About the Position
ChristianaCare is searching for a Perioperative Billing and Scheduling Coordinator to manage and provide direction of the day-to-day patient financial processes to capture patient charges and revenue at all surgical sites for both Christiana and Wilmington Campuses. This position will utilize the perioperative electronic systems and also provide ongoing management, evaluation, creation and implementation of billing processes for accurate charging. The Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring the capture of revenue for ORs, PACUs, Anesthesia and other departments utilizing the perioperative financial/scheduling applications. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must to be successful in this role. Some responsibilities include:
- Supports Director of Business Operations with billing/fiscal responsibilities as required as well as feedback regarding departmental issues.
- Coordinate with the nurse managers to create electronic billing processes and periodically check to make sure those processes are working.
- Provide direct supervision and management of a team of Surgical/Billers schedulers, including recruitment, onboarding, and all HR-related matters.
- Manages Surgical Biller/Schedulers at all surgical sites in ensuring daily charge capture along with add-on scheduling processes.
- Serves as a resource to the OR staff at all sites on documentation/correction process in perioperative electronic applications as well as downtime processes along with assistance and/or education in the correction process of errors at all surgical sites.
- Manages and assigns daily review of various reporting mechanisms to ensure accurate statistical reporting at all surgical sites.
- Collaborates with Finance to establish reconciliation of Perioperative electronic system charging to Soarian system.
Desired candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed a business college program in Office Administration, Secretarial Science, or a related field. Previous Supervisory experience in medical related field is also required. Preferred skills/experience include:
- Perioperative/hospital billing experience
- Administrative/clerical experience with some Christiana Care experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Soarian and Excel
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
