Sonic Healthcare USA (SHUSA) has an exciting opening for a Director, Communications in our Central office located in Austin, Texas.
The Communications Director will create and execute all internal and external multichannel communications initiatives across Sonic Healthcare USA. Responsibilities will include developing and implementing communication strategies with a diverse range of business and marketing communication to expand brand awareness and reinforce our mission, core values, and culture.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Develops and implements the communication strategy roadmap for Sonic Healthcare USA that enables growth and maintains positive brand sentiment.
- Develops and executes strategic and project-level communication plans that support the Company's priorities and vision.
- Oversees communication and branding efforts in digital and traditional marketing platforms (print, mail, brochures).
- Acts as the public relations liaison and spokesperson, responds to media, creates and distributes press releases as needed.
- Assists the executive leadership in developing presentations, speeches, and other essential Company messages.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to help define communications needs
- Designs and prepares internal/external communication and ensure all company materials have consistent branding.
- Develops content tailored to the specific medium and audience requirements across (i.e., print, visual, and auditory formats).
- Provides expertise in crisis management communication, preemptive planning, and forecasting.
- Manages and cultivates agency relationships, ensuring requirements and objectives are successfully met.
- Partners with stakeholders to understand upcoming priorities and initiatives and provide strategic direction to help communicate effectively with clients/customers.
- Participates in the development and execution of strategic Marketing/Communication projects that improve efficiency or enhance the customer experience.
- Develops and manages budget for communications team and ensures compliance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in communications technologies
- Impeccable writing and editing skills, including the ability to research and synthesize information into content for internal and external publications
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to effectively convey information to the organization, executive leadership, clients, and public
- Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to think creatively to craft solutions within given constraints and lead through change
- Ability to work independently, well-organized with attention to detail, self-motivated, and manage several competing priorities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex, and often changing environment
- Working knowledge of content management systems, HTML coding, and digital graphics production
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or related software
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- 10+ years of corporate communications, public relations, or related experience; including supervisory and comprehensive expertise in internal and external communications, executive communications, and media relations, a plus
- Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Healthcare experience is helpful but not required.
