Job Summary
Assists the Safety and Industrial Hygiene Department with maintaining safety management and industrial hygiene compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.Job Duties
- Provides assistance to the Safety and Industrial Hygiene Program regarding employee and patient safety.
- Serves as support for management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste generating activities from the Laboratories, outlying clinics, and various buildings and Pharmaceutical Waste Programs.
- Assists in the effective and compliant, removal, storage, and disposal of on-site generated waste and maintenance of compliant hazardous waste records and manifest tracking system.
- Assists in Ergonomics Evaluations program process system wide as directed with supervision from Department.
- Assists in accident and near-miss safety investigations as directed by the Safety and Industrial Hygiene Department.
- Performs tasks related to Material Safety Data Sheet information management system and Chemical Inventory to ensure system-wide compliance to the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard.
- Conducts Hazard Surveillance and Life Safety rounds under supervision of the Safety and IH Department.
- Supports Respiratory Protection Program for system as needed.
- Requires the routine use, maintenance, service, and calibration of safety and health monitoring equipment including but not limited to air monitoring equipment for confided space entry, indoor air quality investigations, audio metrics, noise monitoring equipment, and light meters.
Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment. Travel may be required.
