Employed PM&R Opportunity with Carilion Clinic – Roanoke, VA

Carilion Clinic, a physician-led, multi-specialty clinic of 750+ physicians located in gorgeous Roanoke, Virginia is seeking BE/BC Physiatrists to join our growing healthcare system.  We have several opportunities for experienced leaders and new graduates to work in a community and academic-focused collegial setting with flexibility to meet your professional satisfaction. 

We are currently seeking energetic candidates for the following positions: 

Consult Physiatrist: The physician will lead a team of two midlevel providers conducting inpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation consults.  

The consultation service is based in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The consult physiatrist will interact closely with the general, orthopedic, trauma, and the hospital medicine service to provide PM&R consultation with recommendations for rehab management and support for patient transitions to acute inpatient rehabilitation. Fifty percent of the consult physiatrist's time will be spent performing inpatient consults, with the remaining fifty percent of clinical time in the outpatient clinic. The Carilion Clinic PM&R outpatient services include musculoskeletal and spine care, spasticity management, orthotics and prosthetics, and other general rehabilitation.

The candidate is expected to apply for an academic appointment with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM) and will be involved in teaching VTCSOM and visiting medical students and residents in our Graduate Medical Education programs.
