The Carle West Physician Group is seeking an Assistant Medical Director for their Hospital Medicine Department at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Illinois.
The Carle West Physician Group Assistant Medical Director is responsible for the leadership, establishment, and implementation of initiatives and services in alignment with the Carle Health vision and behaviors in driving key strategies that result in a positive patient and professional staff member experience.
Summary of key administrative duties and responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Associate Chief Medical Officer and Operational/Administrative Dyad to ensure the prompt resolution of any physician/staff conflicts that arise and appropriately document the outcome
- Support and participate in change initiatives to continuously improve patient care and service
- Demonstrate a commitment to the Carle Experience through instilling the must-have’s within areas of responsibility
- Reinforce the implementation of departmental goals and objectives in alignment with the Carle Health Values and Behaviors
- Demonstrate values, integrity, accountability, professionalism, decision making, and strong character as a model for staff physicians.
- Resolve multiple demands and able to lead in times of uncertainty
- Remain fiscally responsible and mindful of cost savings
- Uphold the Carle Behaviors and hold staff accountable
- Perform specific leadership functions as directed by Associate Chief Medical Officer
- Articulate and role model effective care team collaboration, including, but not limited to, the collaboration with advanced practice providers. Champions delegation and top-of-scope performance with the care teams.
- Properly delegate to Program, Coordinators/Leads/Directors, as needed
- Proactively share best practices related to workflows, continuing education, engagement, and patient satisfaction with fellow leaders
- Attend meetings for medical, clinical, and administrative staff as required and chair/serve on committees as requested by Carle and share appropriate information with staff
- Performance of other duties as assigned
Standard job function/responsibility:
- Maintains current competence to perform care and procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic, specific to the discipline of primary area of clinical practice including clinical privileges and scope of service granted by Carle Health at appropriate hospital(s)
- Satisfactorily completes all required continuing education. Ability to make necessary patient care decisions, initiate policies\procedures relating to the care of acute patients
- Participates in Carle’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities related to practice of medicine
Candidate Qualifications:
- BE/BC in Internal Medicine with an active Illinois Medical license
- 2 or more years of clinical practice at Carle required
- Leadership experience in personnel management, change management and/or quality improvement preferred
