DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture manages a team of IT and CloudOps professionals including supervising daily activities, coaching direct reports, and collaborating with internal business customers to create and execute a strategic secure cloud infrastructure and operations roadmap that supports the broader business goals. As a Director of Cloud Infrastructure and Operations, your mission is to stay ahead of the business to ensure we have systems and processes in place that enable rapid innovation, security, scalability, and resilience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Build the Team: Lead and develop a team of talented IT and CloudOps professionals by hiring and retaining top talent.
- Technology Infrastructure: Oversee cloud technology infrastructure for operations with a perpetual eye on cost and security.
- CloudOps: Provide and maintain automation, tools, and technology to support the deployment and operation of our proprietary in-house software, and other commercial solutions.
- Strategic Vision: Create and execute against a strategic infrastructure and operations roadmap that enables the overall company strategy.
- Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships as needed to support ongoing operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Invest time in research and staff training to stay up to date on the latest technology trends and adopt best practices to continuously improve.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ Years in a cloud infrastructure and platform services / operations management role
- Prior experience supporting an organization using modern technologies (Academic Medical Center or Life Sciences experience preferred)
- Extensive experience in AWS and Azure stacks
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management systems
- Experience with High Performance Computing
- Experience hosting and managing containerized solutions using Kubernetes
- Ability to build processes and policies to establish consistent best practices
- Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and activities as both a lead and team member.
- Driven self-starter that is eager to learn and quick to contribute to all situations
- Proven problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrable experience researching and implementing new technologies.
- Experience with data privacy and compliance

COMPLIANCE - (EXPERT): Demonstrates expert knowledge of the appropriate rules and regulations as they apply to the company. Makes recommendations about the interpretation of complex and new rules and regulations to senior management and the appropriate industry organizations. Represents the company at industry forums and meetings. Asked by senior management to prepare information for use in presentations to industry boards and authorities.
BUSINESS RESULTS - (EXPERT): Widely regarded as able to meet the most difficult and challenging business goals and objectives. Often assigned to manage critical projects by senior management. Able to uncover, capitalize, and profit from business opportunities in areas deemed to be of limited potential.
