Job Summary: The VP Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO) serves as the strategic liaison for health IT efforts representing nursing and clinician needs. In collaboration with nursing, physician, allied health and operational leaders, ensures that the strategy, development and implementation of information management and technology solutions are designed to effectively support nursing, nursing practice, clinical applications and clinical/administrative decision-making. Works collaboratively to develop clinical systems strategy for Harris Health System and optimizes the use of existing and new clinical systems for the interdisciplinary team by attending to their information management needs. The CNIO adheres to the ANA Nursing Informatics Scope and Standards of Practice. The CNIO is responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that cultivates exemplary patient care. As a member of the nursing leadership team, the CNIO establishes a setting that supports professional nursing practice and empowers nurses to provide safe, effective, compassionate, and efficient nursing care in collaboration with all health care disciplines. The CNIO facilitates continuous quality improvement through the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of departmental plans, goals, and objectives. The CNIO is accountable for nursing practice that upholds high standards of integrity and ethical behavior. The CNIO mentors others, role models professionalism, and participates in activities such as nursing organizations, nursing research, the community, and bodies that shape health care policies and practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Degrees
Bachelors- Nursing
Masters-MSN or Masters in Nursing Informatics. If the master's degree is not in nursing, then a Postmasters certificate in Informatics/Information Systems and 10 years of applied nursing informatics experience.
PhD Nursing/Informatics or DNP Preferred
Licenses & Certification:
RN
Nursing Certification in Informatics; Nursing Administrative certification. Must obtain certification within two years if not present on hire.
Work Experience:
10 Years of Clinical Experience with 7 Years Informatics Experience -System level leadership, preferably at hospital and integrated delivery system Leading large scale change
Management Experience:
7 Years of Experience Management/Leadership
Communication Skills:
Above average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking)
Writing/ Correspondence
Writing/ Reports
Proficiencies:
