Position Summary:
The MultiCare Administrative Internship Program is a 10-13 week summer internship program for graduate students enrolled in a Master-level health administration, business administration, or similar field. Administrative Interns are exposed to the complexity of the healthcare industry through various projects and preceptor shadowing.The internship program is designed to be approximately 60 percent project-based work and 40 percent learning from leaders within the organization. Administrative Interns work on a variety of system-level projects and attend executive meetings. With this exposure and visibility, the internship experience is sure to be an immersive, fruitful, and rewarding experience. The internship is a full-time, paid non-benefited position lasting 10 to 13 weeks in duration. Applicants may apply to both positions, which are posted separately for Tacoma and Spokane.Each Administrative Intern will be assigned to a preceptor at the executive administrative level or above. In addition, they will be provided two layers of executive mentorship as well as regular meetings with the program administrator and mentorship from past interns and fellows.Minimum Requirements:
6 months prior experience in a hospital setting preferred (e.g. administrative internship, rotation(s) or clinical experience).Preferred Qualifications-Experience with Microsoft Office software is preferred but not required -Knowledge of change management models and concepts preferred -Facilitation/performance improvement experience (class projects, work experiences)-Training, coursework, or experience facilitating problem-solving work sessions, or experience working in a corporate environment where these tools were utilized-Candidates who are hardworking, self-motivated, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Students must be enrolled in an MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent master-level degree. Strong preference for graduate students between the first and second year of their master-level degree program.Position Type: Full-Time Temporary
