As a physician executive, participate in the drafting, implementation, and enforcement of Union Medical Group (UMG) and Union Health (UH) policies related to physician services offered by UH.
Report to the Chief Executive Officer and execute on directives to enforce UMG policies on behalf of the company. Serve as UMG liaison to related institutions, i.e., Union Health System, Inc., and Union Hospital, Inc.
Serve as part of and meet with the Union Health executive team. Support UMG’s initiative to implement quality and clinical cost-effective care to patients, including collateral activity as an accountable care organization (ACO).
Support UMG physicians and professional and support staff to implement identified clinical information technology initiatives as the Vice President for Physician and Ancillary Services may identify and direct.
Assist Vice President for Physician and Ancillary Services in resolution of medical staff issues, including investigation of patient or other complaints regarding physician conduct or care. Assist and support physician recruitment and retention.
Serve as chairperson of the Physician Counsel to help govern policy, access, quality metrics, and recruitment
Develop collegial and interactive relationships with physicians, medical directors of related health care organizations and managed care organizations.
Lead the effort to identify, implement, monitor, and account for Union Medical Group’s quality care initiatives.
Other duties as reasonably requested by the Chief Executive Officer and Vice President for Physician and Ancillary Services.
Board Certified practicing physician, willing to obtain Indiana licensure if not currently held A minimum of 10 years of clinical practice
An appreciation for the administration and challenges within various specialties
Demonstrated leadership success in supporting and/or directing clinicians and organizations toward integration
Experience in developing and implementing standards of care within an organization
Experience supporting and working within an integrated delivery system
Experience implementing quality and cost-effective care to patients including the collateral activity as an Accountable Care Organization
Experience in implementing and executing Value-Based Care practices
An understanding of negotiating value-based care contracts with both regional and national payers
Excellent problem solving, change management and communication skills
Demonstrated experience with quality metrics, patient experience, and process improvement
Understanding of dyad relationships and site lead/practice management structure
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) is required
- A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Masters in Health Administration (MHA) strongly preferred
