Summary: The Trauma Performance Improvement Specialist works in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director (TDM), the Trauma Program Manager (TPM) and the Trauma Program Registrar to improve the quality of trauma care throughout the hospital areas that affect injured patients. Coordinate and facilitate the trauma performance improvement program including data collection and validation, analysis, trending and benchmarking of data and outcomes while maintaining confidentiality. Facilitate and coordinate a team/teams focused on performance improvement/quality improvement work associated with clinical outcomes. Participate in statistical data analysis, report design, supporting outreach and injury prevention. Provide leadership to a team/teams focused on improving CMS measures associated with patient safety incidents. Collaborates closely with trauma program leadership to ensure compliance with the Delaware Department of Health trauma regulations, and the American College of Surgeons' standards, and the facility standards related to performance improvement.
Experience as a Trauma Registrar.
Responsibilities: Coordinate the multidisciplinary performance improvement in coordination with TMD and TPM. Implement and sustain the trauma multidisciplinary improvement plan and ensure that it meets all regulatory requirements that support performance improvement and patient safety activities of the hospital and Beebe Medical Group. Maintains secure and confidential documentation of all PI activities, including patient performance improvement files, minutes of peer reviews and proves improvement meetings using standard format Participate in local, regional, state and national organizations to expand knowledge and program development Assist with preparation for regulatory agency surveys Oversee the appropriate and standardized performance improvement data fields used to meet the needs to the program and to maintain compliance with any regulatory agency or benchmark organization identified by the program.
