Your day.
As a PACS Administrator, you need to know how to:
This position is responsible to help the end user departments in conceptualizing, designing, implementing and supporting radiology and cardiology applications. Gathers business related requirements in order to support, enhance, and optimize these applications. Leads the site specific configuration, testing, and documentation of the applications. Provides site support during normal business hours as well as on call.
- Responsible for the site specific configuration, testing, implementation, documentation, and support of the Radiology and Cardiology applications
- Analyze and document user requirements, procedures, and problems; to automate or improve existing systems.
- Review and understand Radiology and Cardiology application capabilities, workflows, and limitations; use this knowledge to enhance these areas for the departments supported.
- Develop and document: workflows, build actives, test procedures, quality standards, change management activities, end user notifications, training information, status reporting; all within the appropriate systems, and in a timely manner.
- Expand or modify the Radiology and Cardiology applications to serve new purposes or improve workflow.
- Coordinates projects, schedules, and facilitates meetings as necessary to complete assignments.
- Review and analyze system performance indicators to locate problems, and correct errors. Escalates problems and issues to appropriate teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
- Performs other dues as assigned.
- May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
- May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements list must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with dishabilles to perform the essential functions. Ability to travel, as needed for special projects. Proficient with MS Office software; including Word, Excel, and Project. Experience with PACS Support (radiology and/or cardiology). Knowledge of: HL7, Network configurations, and VM Server environments. Proficient with MS Office software, including Word, Excel and Project.
- Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends is required for identified positions
Required:
- 1-3 yearsâ™ experience with PACS specific dues such as build, test, support, implementation, upgrade management, application configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation
- Associate Degree
- Equivalent work experience in a related area may be considered in lieu of education.
Preferred:
- More than 3 yearsâ™ experience as a PACS Administrator
- Radiology and/or Cardiology clinical knowledge/experience
- CIIP
