Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) or designee, provides support to all functional areas within Cook County Health (CCH). Assists and supports all aspects of initiatives related to Human Resources (HR) Technology updates including design, analysis, testing, reporting and training. Works with HR to drive efficiency, improve service with technology, and provide a desired user experience. Supports Oracle ERP and the day-to-day HRIS functions including administration, reporting, data validation, documentation, and system testing.
Administers and supports additional systems, including Applicant Tracking (Taleo), HR ServiceLink (Salesforce.com), Job Tracker, Johnson Controls and Workforce Time and Attendance. Assists end users throughout CCH by responding to functional questions. Creates and maintains documentation supporting responses to functional questions. Creates queries and reports using system reporting tools and Excel. Assists in the development and production of standard reports for ongoing customer needs and preparation of HR Metrics. Develops user procedures, guidelines, and documentation. Provides training and development to users as requested. Provides requested information to support audit requests within HR as well as from external customers. Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Duties
- Assists with HR system maintenance and testing.
- Creates and maintains audits and data protocols to help ensure the quality of the data.
- Uses data to proactively help drive HR strategies and informed decisions throughout the organization.
- Participates in high level system-wide projects as a data or analytic subject matter expert.
- Independently analyzes and combines data from a variety of data sources to create meaningful analyses.
- Identifies opportunities for constant process improvement.
- Provides functional support to the end user community for all HRIS systems.
- Develop, maintains and updates documentation supporting HRIS systems.
- Documents, track, and monitors problems as shared by end user community.
- Utilizes quantitative and qualitative skills in supporting HR analytics
- Extracts, reviews, and analyzes available data to meet business needs.
- Creates and edits detailed spreadsheets. Creates pivot tables to present data in chart format.
- Responsible for basic level report generation using enterprise report writing tools.
- Acts as a departmental Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting all CCH HR systems including creating reports.
- Provides subject matter knowledge and strategies to other Human Resources personnel for the development, maintenance, installation, and operation of various HR systems.
- Provides support to CCH staff as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with Two (2) years of professional HRIS work experience
- Intermediate experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (i.e., formulas, pivot tables, v-lookup)
- Current experience supporting and/or implementing HR/Payroll Systems software (i.e., Taleo, Salesforce.com, Oracle EBS, and Tableau)
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel (i.e., Macros, VBA)
- Intermediate experience using Salesforce
- Intermediate experience using Tableau
- Intermediate experience working with TALEO Recruiting/Onboarding
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
- Strong understanding of Human Resources processes, HR functional areas of specialization, and HR data
- Knowledge of query and report development for Human Resources systems.
- Knowledge of MS SharePoint and MS Office Suite software (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio) and other software/tools used to manage projects, provide data analysis and develop forms, presentations and reports.
- General understanding of Payroll, Finance and IT business processes as well as interdepartmental dependencies.
- Skill in extracting and manipulating information pertaining to business systems applications.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, ability to apply systems knowledge to troubleshoot and analyze issues.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to regulatory compliance issues.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both written and orally, and use sound judgment in interpreting problems and issues related to data management.
- Strong organizational skills.
Physical and Environmental Demands
This position is functioning within a healthcare environment. The incumbent is responsible for adherence to all hospital and department specific safety requirements. This includes but is not limited to the following policies and procedures: complying with Personal Protective Equipment requirements, hand washing and sanitizing practices, complying with department specific engineering and work practice controls and any other work area safety precautions as specified by hospital wide policy and departmental procedures.
