Job Summary
This position performs User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for multiple system applications throughout the organization during and after implementation of software, configuration changes and robotic process automation. This role is primarily focused on UAT for transactional functions for operations departments such as Claims, Enrollment, Clinical Operations and/or Payment Integrity. The position works as a cross-functional team member to create and perform test plans, test cases and document pass/fail results. This role contributes to continual process improvement and is responsible for ensuring a high level of quality.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work closely with internal and external customers, vendors and information systems developers to ensure requirements are clearly understood in order to develop complete, accurate and reusable UAT test plans and test cases.
- Execute the manual test cases to deliver optimal system functionality and ensure changes meet both business and quality requirements.
- Research pass/fail results and participate in defect meetings by providing information required to triage and resolve issues encountered during testing.
- Communicate the system changes necessary to information system developers, vendors, configuration specialists and management.
- Work with developers, system coordinators and vendors to support regression test cases as needed.
- Work with system coordinators, leads and supervisors to create Level of Effort (LOE) estimates for testing activities within a project.
- Provide testing support for new systems by learning departments’ business processes and understanding how they will run in the new system.
- Develop testing plans with leadership support.
- Provide testing support for production issues, fixes and system enhancements for multiple projects.
- Facilitate or assist manager in facilitating UAT meetings and communicating test progress status/results and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
- Assist in identifying automation opportunities by reviewing existing test cases to determine if supported applications are available.
- Proactively initiate, develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
- May support production and transactional processing in operations up to 10% of the time.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines
- Growing ability to understand business requirements and acceptance criteria, identify deficiencies against expected outcomes and capture pass/fail results for reporting
- Ability to build testing plans with leadership guidance
- Ability to report testing status and results to a variety of audiences
- Ability to set and meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize multiple and sometimes competing projects and objectives
- Ability to work well under pressure with frequent interruptions
- Ability to work with some amount of ambiguity
- Growing ability to identify and remove barriers to accomplishing project requirements
- Effective written, oral and presentation communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership and staff
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel
- Ability to facilitate collaboration and work effectively with diverse groups and individuals
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of word processing applications
- Ability to remain calm, maintain perspective and respond in a professional manner when faced with difficult situations
Education and/or Experience
Required:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with healthcare claims processing, utilization management systems or enrollment processing platforms
Preferred:
- Experience performing user acceptance testing and deconstructing functional requirements for test planning and test case development
- Experience with Oregon Medicaid
- Experience with process improvement
- Experience working with QNXT, EAM, Connect and/or SharePoint
- Experience related to business analysis, and/or requirements gathering for systems implementations
