The Clinical Quality Data Analyst is responsible for internal and external quality metric reporting. This position develops analytics, reports, dashboards, and maintains software to support Westchester Medical Center Health Network's transition to a high reliability and performance excellence-based system. In addition, The Clinical Quality Data Analyst collaborates with the Quality Department on data mappings and extracts, to reduce manual abstractions and maintain consistency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates and maintains key performance indicators that are aligned with national and state benchmarks to inform stakeholder decision making.
- Administers the Midas Care Management System and Premier quality tools in order to support users by providing education, on-going assistance, reference, and troubleshooting.
- Recommends opportunities for improvement to processes and reporting capabilities.
- Designs and coordinates the development, maintenance, and implementation of customized departmental quality reports and dashboards.
- Acts as the key subject matter expert for provider and department specific dashboards related to internally and externally reported outcome measures.
- Presents data findings and recommendations to leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Ensures timely and accurate submission to various pay for performance programs (e.g. Value based purchasing via CMS, QHIP, Aetna and others).
- Evaluates potential external data reporting opportunities for the health system, reviewing risks and opportunities and makes recommendations based on this data analysis.
- Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the system as well as the proper release of information.
- Designs and documents specifications for reporting and complies with enterprise change control policies and procedures.
- Produces SQL data extracts, creates automated extract transform and load programs.
- Manages metadata for analysts and management.
- Incorporates external datasets into the data warehouse and blends with other data.
- Prepares reports to communicate progress, recommendations etc. to Bon Secours Executive Leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Manages special projects for the VP, Quality and Patient Safety that focus on achieving a highly reliable, safe, and compliant healthcare environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Experience:
Five to ten years of experience in analytics and business intelligence development. Familiarity with quality tools such as Premier Quality Advisor or Midas Care Management System preferred. Proficiency with SQL, Tableau, Crystal Reports, Business Objects Enterprise, Business Objects Universe.
Education:
Master's degree preferred in information management, mathematics, statistics, finance, healthcare administration or business administration or related field preferred.
