Responsibilities:
- Infection Preventionist (IP) functions as a qualified individual with knowledge of Centers for Disease Control guidelines and definitions of healthcare-associated infections and federal and state regulations.
- Responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections among patients and hospital personnel.
- IP may institute collection of cultures and initiate appropriate isolation precautions
- Responsible for assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention and control and other related projects.
- Takes an active role in QA/PI (Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement) as needed, focusing on patient safety, facility safety, and patient satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse.
- 3-5 years of nursing experience preferred.
- BSN preferred.
- Certification in Infection Control preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational and clinical skills.
- Self motivated and collaborates with various team members.
Schedule:
- 72 hours per pay period.
- Days. Occasionally on-call in emergency situations that involve infections disease or exposure.
- The schedule may fluctuate based on the needs of the department.
