Primary Function:
We are seeking a Full-Time Payroll Specialist to maintain employee master files on Payroll Computer System to ensure processing of payroll accurately, promptly and securely for all services rendered to CCHS.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains employees Workday and Kronos Pay files to ensure accurate pay for all services rendered to employees.
Interprets Christiana Care Health Systems pay practice and procedures in order to provide CCHS employees with a clear explanation of pay computations.
Maintains employee files for voluntary and involuntary payroll deductions, Federal and State tax withholding.
Performs an audit of completed timecards to identify potential pay errors and to ensure compliance to CCHS policy.
Performs an audit of system calculated earnings, contacts department heads to relate audit findings and gives instructions for processing required pay adjustments. Reports any policy violations to Payroll leadership team.
Responsible for verification of the signing of paychecks, maintains check number control log, verifies payroll system control report, deliver paper checks to Post Office.
Processes on demand checks or pay adjustments adhering to pay computations procedures.
Processes on demand checks, request for duplicate W-2 forms, memos, letters and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office products.
Complete Payroll and Expenses Settlement process as required.
Prepares payroll reports for Payable and departments as the need arises.
Researches employees' pay history to determine compliance with CCHS pay policies as required.
Replies to inquire for salary information, employment verifications and respond to third party garnishments from outside agencies in a timely manner.
Actively participates in the testing of new procedures, analyzes data and reports findings.
Maintains vendor master file on Payroll computer system for the processing of third party payments, i.e., child support, garnishments, student loans, etc.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school graduate with bookkeeping and/or accounting background.
One year previous payroll experience with emphasis on statistical computation.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
