DescriptionVanderbilt Health - Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for the Senior Director - Talent Acquisition.
The Senior Director - Talent Acquisition has leadership oversight for implementing proactive talent acquisition strategies, driving process improvements that enhance the candidate experience, and evaluating impact and return on investment. Reporting to the Vanderbilt Health Chief Human Resources Officer, this role is a key member of the senior HR team partnering with internal HR colleagues and operations in order to attract, assess and hire the highest quality, mission-driven talent. The system employs 30,000 team members throughout our clinical, research, and educational areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Director - Talent Acquisition will lead a team of 80+ (and growing) recruiting professionals delivering first class execution of all aspects of full life-cycle recruiting. He/she will partner with HR colleagues to plan and deliver high quality human capital needs in a fast paced, competitive market and have a demonstrated track record of developing a strategic road map for the talent acquisition function, including setting and achieving goals, leading a team, identifying opportunities, and continuing Vanderbilt Health's journey to best-practice recruiting.
The Senior Director - Talent Acquisition will have proven experience in talent branding across a variety of channels, including social media, diversity recruiting programs and industry functions such as conferences. He/she will ensure the recruiting team and hiring managers continue to be fully equipped & inspired to sell and select quality talent by identifying, pipelining, attracting, assessing, and closing on that talent. Experience driving time-to-fill targets, being a key contributor to new hire retention rates, using data to inform decisions, communicating results, and identifying areas for improvement is paramount as this leader will need to think strategically and execute tactically in a high-growth environment. This individual will be able to develop and maintain strong working relationships with hiring managers, vendors, community organizations, and other team members to create a partnership that yields success, predictable results, and credibility. He/she will participate in the development of ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies in difficult markets. Proven experience in recruiting Director and C-Suite level talent is helpful.
Additional Responsibilities include:
* Provides leadership, guidance and professional development to the Talent Acquisition team with the focus of being consultative and strategic to the business, while raising the bar of recruiting performance.
* Champions the establishment and promotion of the employer/talent brand that effectively promotes Vanderbilt Health's culture.
* Leads the Talent Acquisition technology platform strategy and ensures full optimization, utilization, enhancements and continuous improvement of the Applicant Tracking System (Taleo currently, will be converting to Workday) and other recruitment tools.
* Ensures legal compliance with regard to all talent acquisition initiatives and Affirmative Action planning.
* Provides expert consultation to team members and business leaders regarding a variety of Talent Acquisition specific topics.
* Enhances individual and team performance by creating a climate of continuous learning in support of the organization's strategic initiatives.
* Demonstrates proven ability utilizing various tools to validate and evaluate the effectiveness of attraction and hiring programs.
* Possesses strong project management & problem solving skills, utilizing technical expertise and sound business judgment in support of operational and strategic objectives.
* Demonstrates the ability to produce results by leveraging resources, maintaining appropriate expense control, and managing key initiatives effectively.
* Demonstrates the ability to work with and lead through multiple priorities.
* Demonstrates the ability to effectively recruit, assess and develop talent. Strong "hands-on" performance management abilities, focused on building teams that sustain exceptional performance in support of the business.
