DescriptionAssociate IT Project Manager - VICTR
Job Summary
We are seeking an Associate IT Project Manager with the training and curiosity to build the resources necessary to enable big data discoveries and to be responsible for coordinating activities of the project team(s), with some guidance. Work closely with medical research informatics faculty and staff to expand and create innovative big data resources to enable data-driven translational science. Identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of project(s). Coordinate the activities of the team(s) by becoming familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member. Implement small development projects or components of large projects. Ability to work with users, as well as solve medium to complex problems.

Data Science
- Brings structure to large quantities of formless data and makes analysis possible.
- Identifies rich data sources, joins them with other, potentially incomplete data sources, and cleans the resulting set.
- Finds a story within a data set and provide a coherent narrative about a key data insight, and advises leadership on implications of the data for products, processes and decisions.
Project Communication
- Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate project communications in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
- Clearly and effectively transmits basic ideas and information to others.
- Effectively communicates technical information and business ideas to others, including non-technical audiences in writing, with numbers, verbally and/or visually.
- Shares knowledge, ideas and information openly, and effectively sells new ideas and influences others.

Project Coordination
- Reviews specific project related documents for completeness and accuracy and ensures project status reports are received, when due, from project managers for all approved projects.
- Provides administrative and logistics support for various project meetings, training, workshops and facilitated sessions.
- Coordinates and tracks all work requests to ensure on time project delivery.
- Keeps project plans updated and ensures key milestones and dependencies are understood.
- Responsible for record keeping for project meetings such as issues logs, gap analysis sheets, meeting minutes, making copies, team event planning and execution, team travel, on-boarding activities for contractors or consultants, set up and maintenance of project repositories.
Project Issues Management
- Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate Issues Management in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
- Keeps control of all action items and the planned completion dates, and efficiently reports status and resolution to management.
Project Planning
- Demonstrates ability to realistically anticipate resource needs, identify and break work down into discrete and measurable tasks, set priorities, define dependencies, schedule activities, prepare acceptance criteria and organize work for a medium sized project.
- Appropriately matches equipment and capital resources to task demands.
- Reshapes project during life-cycle evolution, if needed.
- Demonstrates ability to break down work into manageable and measurable units, estimating time and costs appropriate to the stage of the project.
- Works with basic project management tools, either paper-based or computer software systems.
- Develops creative ideas and takes innovative action to achieve planned goals and objectives. Is proficient in the use of project management tools.
