Job Summary
Learn and help continuously improve and enforce our policies and procedures to ensure the mission and vision of the team is met. Takes a hands-on role in development and data management functions and will ensure high-quality development practices are followed and business needs are met on time, within budget. Design, build, and implement various components of the Unified Data Architecture including data models, semantic layers and metadata views, data manipulation and transformation packages, visualization/reporting applications, and other software/hardware that impacts the services the team provides.Job Duties
- Provides onboarding, training and mentoring to staff in alignment with achieving these objectives.
- Works with senior leadership, operational and clinical departmental leaders, departmental analysts and Business Strategy and development staff to understand requirements, promote awareness and effective use of the Unified Data Architecture.
- Responsible for the execution and facilitation of all projects, following the appropriate Software Development Lifecycle and ensuring tollgates are appropriately completed.
- Tasks can include scoping, profiling data, collecting requirements, collaboratively designing databases, analytics and other assets, building these assets when necessary, performing testing, training and deployment activities and facilitating post-go live assessments.
- Works on projects of moderate to high complexity within two or more development environments.
- Responsible for working with source system data managers and stewards as well as operational and clinical leaders to understand source applications and processes and to identify and correct all source system data integrity issues.
- Requires direct observation of the associated data capture process flows.
- Leads activities related to the Hadoop platform including but not limited to the design, build, installation, and configuration of Hadoop platform components; the load of disparate data sources; rapid prototyping; pre-processes using Hive and Pig; and HBase-related deployments.
- Performs research and analysis of operational, financial, and clinical data, including medical algorithms and complex statistical analyses to provide insight into health care expenditures, medical and economic outcomes, cost containment, and other strategies.
- Summarizes and presents findings and recommendations to the appropriate audiences.
- Functions as a super user in areas of programming, priority analytic methodologies, clinical healthcare operations or data reporting and management tools.
- Actively participates in the valuation processes related to project requests and ROI realization following project completion.
- Provides quality assurance oversight of project-related data flows and stores including the review of data entry, loads, transformations, extractions, merges, and other production jobs.
- Collaborate with data stewards, subject matter experts, and project sponsors in data enrichment processes.
- Develops and delivers training programs to internal and external customers.
- Provides leadership in the development and maintenance of a knowledgebase that includes all relevant attributes, statistics, and data elements associated with all data systems acquired into and built on top of the UDA.
- Provides input to management for annual budget preparation, operational and capital budgeting and ongoing evaluation and reporting of budget variances.
