Job Summary:
The Senior Director of Professional & Support Services manages the activities and contracts of Professional and Support Services including but not limited to Biomedical Engineering, COVID Contractual Agreements and Laboratory Services. This individual will develop and implement policies, procedures and protocols to provide safe and effective services, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures, accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities of this position include collaborating with department heads for ensuring all Professional & Support Services needs are met, including allocating resources for the provision of services and managing Network staffing services contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and coordinates operational and administrative activities related to Support Services for WMCHealth locations.
- Development of policies and procedures for contracted services to include: service delivery model, volume projections, staffing models.
- Work with Finance and Legal Departments on execution of contractual arrangements.
- Standardize reporting functions through development of dashboards to track key performance measures.
- Implements policies and practices for assigned areas to ensure compliance with Medical Center standards and external requirements.
- Manages and oversees the implementation of policies and practices in order to be in compliance with applicable accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Serves as liaison with department heads to ascertain departmental needs and works toward resolution of all issues related to Support Services departments.
- Serve as a liaison with community partners for the delivery of healthcare services,
- Promotes and provides quality customer service and proactively identifies and resolves customer issues.
- Monitors and evaluates quality improvement activities and collaborates with other departments for quality improvement initiative.
- Contributes to strategic planning and budget development for respective departments.
- Manages team performance, and analyzes performance against key performance indicators and metrics, fosters a collaborative environment to address performance deficiencies and provides coaching/mentoring to ensure the highest levels of individual and team performance.
- Analyzes and identifies opportunities to increase operational efficiencies.
- Undertakes special projects and assignments as directed.
- Develops operations strategy and oversees process improvement opportunities across respective departments that result in operational and patient satisfaction enhancements.
Experience:
7 - 10 years in a supervisory or management level position in a healthcare, which includes responsibility for overseeing the maintenance and setup of area, equipment and supplies in compliance with infection control requirements, accreditation, and regulatory standards, required.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree, required. Master's Degree, preferred.
Licenses / Certifications:
N/ASpecial Requirements: Ability to effectively plan, organize and supervise the work of others; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to relate to and deal effectively with all levels of hospital personnel and contract personnel; ability to effectively use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments; ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position; good judgment; resourcefulness; tact.
